Welcome to the FR Hootenanny!

Hi, I'm Daniel. I don't play Dungeons and Dragons (though I did when I was a teenager in the 80's). However, I'm still a big fan of fantasy novels. I particularly the world building aspect of fantasy and there seems to be no series bigger devoted to one fantasy world than the Forgotten Realms. Plus I'm a huge fan of the old TSR illustrators like Clive Caldwell, Keith Parkinson, and Larry Elmore.

About this site's name...technically, a hootenanny is a folk music jam party. Sorry, no music here. All the art is visual. I like the word though. I guess we'll have to go on the older definition of the work which basically is "a forgotten thingamajig".

"What's the point of this site?" you ask. Mostly this is to show off my fan art for the Forgotten Realms series of novels. However, I've also included information about the novels (synopsis, characters, cover illustrations, etc.) as well as reviews.

I've only just started so there's not much detail yet.
